If that happens, I will become a criminal in her eyes and a hero in ours! Not much sense worrying about something I have very little control over, so why not enjoy myself while I can. You don't really think you can hide anything, do you. If they want it bad enough, they already have enough information on you and what you may have, legal or not.

Unless you bought everything off the black market or at shady gun show deal, everything leaves a paper trail back to you in most cases.

IMHO there is no need to panic buy ammo. As long as we all buy ONLY what we need we'll ALL be able to buy ammo as we need it.
Lets don't create another shortage over nothing but PANIC!

I have to admit stocking up on 9mm, 45 and 5.56. More than I need for sure. My reasoning has more to do with the possibility of prices being up for awhile after the election. Certainly no panic buying--and I've not seen any shortages. Plenty of case sales in popular calibers at my LGS priced very reasonably.

Looks like we're going to have to register to buy ammo in Ca. That could put an end to on-line sales and Wally World would have to have designated clerks and prices will have to go up. I'm on SS but will find a way to over stock for the coming drought.

Buy what you like and as much as you would like to keep in stock while you still can. I am not saying stick your head in the sand and freak out like it's Y2K all over again. I am just saying ammo has a way of going up in price as the supply gets smaller, so if you have the funds and space for it, why not!

Ok so what prevents you from driving to an Arizona gun show and stocking up?

California cops have been known to take license numbers of California vehicles and stop them when they're back in California.

A friend owned a gun store in California and he told me of one of his customers who had been caught that way after buying a couple of handguns in Reno.

OTOH, there are much smaller, less traveled roads back in and that's what these people should use.

It may come to that but I'd be looking at a 6 hour round trip so I'll try to load up now.

After our weekly shooting session yesterday, we were all having coffee and solving the problems of the world and this exact subject came up. We all essentially said what our comfort level was in the amount of components we had stashed (we're all reloaders).

One of the newest members listened for a while and remarked that his neighbors thought that he had an enormous stash but he'd told them that compared to the group he was barely even a beginner.

He had one year's worth of components stashed at his current level of shooting, which is 10,000 rounds a year.

And what penalty has Cali set for this if you do get caught?
Obviously you're losing the ammo but felony or misdemeanor?

Hey, bro! Those same programs that "sniff out" certain words and word usage patterns looking for terrorism activity can do the same thing for other words and phrases on survivalist forums and gun forums. And you can bet they are monitoring survivalist forums because a lot of anti-government and white supremacy groups (that the DOJ looks upon as domestic terrorist breeding grounds) are among those. And Hillary has already said that SCOTUS "got it wrong" on Heller. So don't be so sure about what you think Hillary will or won't do.
