Has anyone ever used WinClean 9mm 115 ammo? I read about the new casement round that prevents lead vapor near the shooter for indoor ranges. Any thoughts?

Makes me wonder if accuracy is lost...

I know the inside of the .45ACP WinKleen brass I scrounge is so shiny inside it doesn't look like it needs cleaning before reloading it. How do they do that? ![]() Not likely. The only real difference is the bullet being completely clad in copper, no exposed lead, and lead free primers. I'm gonna guess it costs more, too... I've used a bit of it in a Glock 17 and it worked well. I've never tried it in one of my SIGs, but our state academy uses it in all calibers, and the .45 ACP will not run in our P220STs.

It's loaded as target ammo. Maybe it's loaded down too much? Winchester seems to be having some issues with their ammo lately. I've run a couple batches of SPP Federal brass .45ACP with my regular target load & it worked fine, so I doubt it's the small primer. Guys with chronos say the small primer loses at most 50fps.

They just won't cycle in our guns. My guess is that the recoil impulse is not enough to cycle the slide properly. The academy has an indoor/outdoor range and they have a mandate to use lead free. We use an outdoor range and have no issue with Federal HST 230 grain hollowpoints and American Eagle (Federal) FMJ 230 grain ball.

That would make sense. Some sort of slower, cleaner powder might explain the shiny bright brass inside the fired cases. I use Bullseye & Green Dot for .45ACP. While they are "close" on the burn rate chart I've found the slower Green Dot quits cycling my bottom feeders at a much heavier charge than the Bullseye.
