Here is my example of 2 rounds I find extremely attraction. I'm a simple guy...

There's actually a little bit of reason behind the glitz - use this setup to quickly identify my hot recipes.

I use nickel plated brass to identify my tyrannosaurus rex loads for my Marlin 1895 .45-70 (grizzly bear loads).

Brass is for lighter stuff and range use.

Hmm, SIG's n' Guide Guns - I like it!

Mines center below, a pre-Remlin example with some mods. Also used for anti-bear and missile shield defense.

Nice bumper.

Mine's a 1973 with microgroove rifling. Believe it or not, in 1973 these things cost $175.00 OTD.

Don't let anyone tell you you can't shoot cast bullets in a microgroove barrel.

The hard cast bullet at 405 grains in not a lot shy of an ounce of lead, and with the guns relatively light weight, when "loaded for bear", it kicks like a PO'd mule. If ever under bear attack, my plan is to hand Mr. Bear the gun and let him shoot it.

My go to load for Alaska was a 405 grain hard cast bullet over 53 grains of 3031.

Just short of 2,000 fps in a light lever gun.

It was comforting when I was walking the woods, though.
