2014 ??

Are we to assume that January 2014 will usher in MORE price increases for reloading components?
Primers are already at $40.00 / 1,000, Powder between $25.00 to $30.00 a pound, little cheaper in 8# jugs. I was absolutely THRILLED to find 5/1lb. cans and 1/8lb jug of Varget for $27.50 and $189.00 respectively. (plastic is free money, right??)
Bullets? The best price I could come up with was 2 / 1,000 boxes of Nosler .30 cal. 168 grain Custom Competition at $252.00 each including extortion (tax) and shipping. Actual price per box was $229.99.
Nosler .224 cal./ 69 grain Custom Competition bullets on back order since July. at $157.99 each.

Still looking for 170 grain .357 FMC bullets for the .357 Remington Maximum. Cast bullets just don't perform in this cartridge.

Prices are increasing for powder.... I imagine other components are going to follow the same path unfortunately..... Here's some of the pricing for next year:

Hodgdon 3-5%, IMR 4%, Winchester powder 4%, Vihtavuori 4%. Also the following powders will be discontinued: 780, AA Lite, 4007SSC

The latest incarnation of normal is always hard to swallow. My dad still has a receipt where he fill his camero up in '68 for $.27/gallon. I still have a few 550 count boxes of .22 with $10.99 price tags. Now I hear milk is going to be dramatically more expensive. Here's the bright side, like with prohibition, a lucrative black market will be developed.
