Please stay away from the Blazer! lol

S&B is actually good ammo as long as it is the brass-cased.

I would go with either the Remington or the S&B.

Before i started reloading, i shot 200 rds of either federal or WWB 115gr fmjs from walmart. The federals were 19.99 on the shelf (often sold out) and the WWB was 22.57. Plus i never had to pay shipping, which can get pretty crazy when ordering cases of ammo. but if you want to order ammo, my friend gets pretty good deals at Ammunition Online at Factory Direct Prices | Freedom Munitions

I have used all but MBI. Blazer used to be regarded as a great value but recently I have read more reports about it being underpowered and causing clcle problems. Most improtantly if it functions OK in your pistol then go with the most cost effective stuff you can get. Some are cleaner than others but I can't give you an order of cleanest to dirty. Cabela's 'Select' ammo is made by S&B, has brass cases and shoots ok as well. The 'Select' is listed at $249 for 1200 rounds

I have not shot enough factory ammo to give a really good opinion, but I have shot probably 250 rounds of Sellier & Bellot and it seemed to do very well.

I also like the Sellier & Bellot brass for reloading.

Put over 600 rnds of Blazer Brass thru my new 250 and it ran fine, but then the 250 runs fine on anything I put through it. Have read that it's "dirty" but I didn't see evidence of that.

Freedom Munitions

I recently received 500 rounds of 9mm from Freedom Munitions - delivered to residence in Charlotte, NC for $106. Good looking ammo - brass cased, FMJ - packed in 250 round boxes so I save my old 50 round boxes and "repackage" for the range.

Have shot approx. half this shipment in my 30 year old Sig P6 - Zero problems, ammo is clean, accurate and very consistent.

I believe the shipping part of the total price was $16 so next time I will order 1000 and hope for less to ship.

I reload 45 ACP but not 9mm so I buy it. Quick service from Freedom with no problems whatsoever.

Charlotte, NC

Have you thought about buyingreloads from say a local gun show. If you are only talking about range ammo I have bought 1000's of rounds and never had an issue. I am getting 1000 for about $175. There are also many online sources that sell reloaded ammo I know some people are going to jump all over this but for the price even if you have a few FTF's it is good pratice to clear and cycle.

My favorite range ammo is Blazer Brass, S&B, Federal Eagle, Speer Lawman, and Winchester NATO.

Other than the Winchester NATO I get the rest usually for $10.49 - $9.79 a box of 50. The Winchester NATO I get for $11.20 a box at the LGS but it is excellent and near +P.

I have been stocking up since this is an election year.

My favorite online sellers are SGammo, Natchez, and Palmetto State Armory.

Thank you all. Hopefully more will benefit from all the suggestions. I just checked Freedom Munitions (Ammuniton Online Factory Direct), and can get 115 gr 9mm brass FMJ 500 rd shipped for $104. That's ~ $10 per 50 including shipping and no tax. I am placing an order! Will also check at our local gun show coming up for reloads. Will get into reloading myself (my son has a great automatic setup), but not quite ready yet.

Been using the Winchester White box 115 FMJ , also PMC, no problems with either. Just picked up a few boxes of Federal Champions from Walmart for $19.95 a box. I hope they work better than they look, the bullet jackets all have scrapes and dings in them and the brass all has some corrosion spots. looks like they put them together with the quality control rejects, all bottom of the barrel stuff.

I've had good success with Blazer 9mm in the past with my P266. I can't remember the specifics now, like the grain. But lately all that has been on the shelf is lead round nose and my ranges won't allow it. So I haven't used it in a while. I don't have experience ordering by mail, so can't comment on that part of your question.

I've used Blazer aluminum cased ammo in 9mm, 40 S&W, 38 Special, 357 Mag, 45 ACP, 44 Mag, and never had a problem with any of it. It is no longer as cheap as it once was. Luckily I still have some in 9mm and 45. That means I do not have to bend over time after time to "harvest" brass. I don't like Winchester White Box -- it's too dirty.

Over the years I've used many different brands of ammo -- I've been lucky, never running into any really bad stuff. Some of the reloads available are pretty good -- I do remember using HSN and finding it to be pretty good. Oh yeah, I've also used Silver Bear -- zinc coated steel cases - a little too smoky, but otherwise not bad. Since I bought it, my range has outlawed steel cases. Since the bullets are not magnetic, and the stuff doesn't look like steel, I will occasionally use half a mag or so - just to be rid of it. Not the best thing to do, but otherwise it will languish for years.
