While I have not tried it, I'm sure your Sig will eat it with no problem.

not tried the aluminum but cabelas has the brass on sale for 9.99 per 50 for 9mm. I have several hundred rounds but not sure if I like it or not. my 1st hundred rounds seems to be left and low a bit compared with the Fiocchi I regularly shoot. I didn't have any Fiocchi with me when I shot the herters so I may have had an off day and it was me not the ammo. next time I make it to the range, I will take both to do a better comparison.

2nd visit to the range was better. it shot as good as the fiocchi that I am most used to, so as long as this is on sale I will buy more.

no sorry. I probably shouldn't have even posted since it wasn't to the OP's question, but wanted to give an over all opinion of the HERTERS quality.

It's all good L&L .... I was wondering about the HERTERS.... I hope the OP too will give us a range report. I was going to order some of this from Cabella's. The price seems very fair. I was going through my "stock" and found a winchester white box of 9mm for 6.99! that was a old box!

| Update?
Any new info or range report on this ammo? I just ordered a couple boxes in .45 ACP to try. My indoor range doesn't want me to use a metal jacketed bullet (fear of ricochets and damage to steel plates, I'm told) - so I thought this might be an acceptable to the all lead re-manufactured Ultramax they want me to shoot. I scoured the site to find any info on this ammo, but this was the only thread I found. Info and use reports appreciated. |

We shot a box of Herters aluminum cased nylon coated bullets yesterday at the range. Firearms used were a Glock 17 and a 9mm 1911. No problems. Fed well. As accurate as all the other stuff we used -- Blazer Aluminum 115 gr., S&B, Winchester NATO, and some Silver Bear. If I could find some now, I'd buy it -- if they didn't jack the price up too much.

The Herters is Cabelas house brand name. The alum case nylon jacket I believe is MADD for them by CCI Blazer.

I used the Herter's 9mm Alum case ammo at the range a couple weeks ago. Shot about 100 rounds with my p226 and brother's XD. No problems with either gun. Then a State Patrol officer asked to shoot my p226, but he wouldn't shoot the alum ammo. He just didn't like the lighter (not as strong) casings - he didn't want to be on the back end when one failed. NOTE: They are also only ONE use only - no reloading.

I bought a hundred rounds of this ammo and shot it through my S&W M&P Shield. Worked great and I couldn't tell that my gun was any dirtier than with any other ammo. I'd love to buy a 1000 rounds of it. I should have when I saw it at Cabella's, but I was a little leery of it and wanted to shoot it before I invested much in it. I would definitely buy more of this.

I bought 100 rounds of Herters aluminum cased, nylon clad bullets some time ago. Used it in both my Glock17 and Sig 226. No problems at all. Bore looked O.K. before cleaning. Federal had Nyclad available in 38 Special and (I think) 9mm. Had good reviews. Never tried it -- and it was pulled from the market before I could. I read somewhere that they have brought back Nyclad in 38 Special -- but I have not seen it around yet. |

I've bought a few cases of Herters 7.62x39 and ran it through 2 SKSes perfectly fine for hundreds of rounds. I've had zero problems with them, but then again most SKSes will eat anything thrown at them. I understand it's a store brand, but I could swear it's re-branded/repackaged Tula or Wolf - especially on the 7.62x39 platform... Anything other than brass is a tad harder on the extractor, but the price savings on all but a few oddball platforms make non-brass a viable option, sometimes even after just a few hundred rounds. |

I got some Herter's steel case .223 from Cabela's and it's stamped Tulammo.

Funny this was posted 9 months ago and it breathing again! While the ammo shoots ok, no problems... You can not reload it, nor can you reload steel case rounds. |

I've shot a ton of Herter's steel case 7.62.39 with zero issue -- which doesn't answer your question. And AKs will pretty much shoot anything, which is doubly worthless.
