716 ammo recommendation

I just bought a 716. I've read there are some issues with the 716 depending on ammo used and that the recommendation is to use 762 vs 308 in order to avoid those issues. Assuming I've got that right, what 762 ammo do folks recommend? I'd like to stockpile some in my gun vault (indoors and air conditioned) and maybe have it sit for a while. I'm not a hunter, more of a collector preparing for zombies.

I personally never had any ammo issues with my 716. I primarily use American Eagle 150 grain 308. It's no match ammo, but it works for my needs. A local gun shop gives 10% off if you buy by the case which works out to about $14.50 a box.

Federal premium 7.62x51 BTHP 175 grain has been a great round but pricey

Well!! I reload MATCH quality for a little less than 50 cents each, or, $10.00 a box of 20.

Even at that price, a trip to the range can cost $75.00 + and that is a couple times a week during the summer months.
