Favorite ammo?

I would like to get a larger consensus on ammo, and a more up to date one. What is your favorite brand to shoot, and why?
Myself, I am pretty new to shooting, I have been getting fiocchi because it is readily available and I can get it for an alright price at the local sporting goods store. Just recently though I went to the closest walmart that carries ammo(about 20 miles) and they had UMC range packs for a much better price, the drive is just out of the way.

Price is basically my only factor, I clean after each trip like most people, so dirty ammo isnt too big of a deal for me.

I am doing this to get an idea of the favorite brands here. I am going to buy some bulk ammo soon and wanted to make a list of all the prices I find as a reference for everyone else. I have one going for .40 HPs right now, fyi.

Yeah sorry, I am a relatively new shooter and trying to find a good list was hard. I still want to get an idea though. Thanks for the input.

CCI/ATK/SPEER/BLAZER/PMC is all manufactured here in Idaho. Affordable, cleaner than other budget ammunition, and super-reliable. Never had a problem with any of it. They also make the renowned Gold Dot Hollow Point. Not many better than it for all-around performance, service life, and reputation. I like Hornady, Winny, Federal, and most of the others, too.

Don't be shy about Black Hills ammo (.223). It's good stuff, and at a decent price.

Never mentioned if it was for range shooting or personal defense. I posted on personal defense preference. Range ammo though I go with either Federal or Winchester White Box.

Hornady has consistently produced top quality ammunition for everyone from competition shooters to swat teams. Federal on the other hand has put out alot of crap compared to Hornady.
