| Did my first indoor tournament today
I decided to take the plunge and get in my first tournament today. Unfortunately, not with my SIG, since it was as GSSF Indoor tournament. It's still basically D-1 shooting. Overall, fun experience since I've never competed. Can't say I shot so well (using my G19 that I have shot about 3 times compared to shooting the SIG every week). Overall, ended up with a 367-13X. Not setting the world on fire, but it's a start. Looking at joining a local D-1 league and getting some more practice in and hopefully shooting some IDPA in the spring, since we don't have many winter options for IDPA in Michigan. Hoping to learn more from this sub forum. |

Just competed in the 2nd month of the GSSF tournament here in MI. I only shot the G19 once in between the competitions, due to the lack of 9mm bullets and the fact I needed to sell some to my dad and nephew who were shooting with me. I did get a chance to work on my long distance shooting and it did help a bit, combined with one of the guys working on my trigger. So much smoother and way better. This time I came in at 409-15X. I could have shot better, but I had less misses this time, even though a rushed a few strings. I'm happy to see a 42 point uptick, but I'm still a long ways from being in the money. I've figured out the local D-1 league--it's indoors and .22 only. Fortunately, my P226 is chambered in .22 via x-change kit, so I'll see about joining that every Monday night to work on my bullseye shooting. I think with about 3 good weeks I could probably jump my GSSF shooting up to the mid 400's. |

what does 367-13x/409-15x mean?

if I recall, the points on the left is the count of the ring target amounts - so ring 5 is 5 points per hit, 6, and so on. -13X means bullseyes, it's a way to do tiebreaks.
