RE: Question for concealed carry folks
As far as an accidental exposure of your concealed gun, it would be considered brandishing. If you were doing it to intimidate it would be brandishing with intent.
Having a concealed carry permit, you are held to a higher standard. There would be the expectation you will ensure at no time the weapon becomes exposed and you are aware of all the locations in which having the weapon is restricted.
With that said, in the event yours does become exposed it will, in most cases, be up to the officer to determine the severity of the situation. I am sure if you are honest, relaxed, and not a general DB you will probably be simply reminded of your duty as a permit holder. If you take the road of being a jerk or rude you will probably be charged.
Would be best to take the time to get completely familiar with your carry selection, including the gun, holster, and any accessories you plan to have with you. Take the time to know what it takes to expose and be aware of your surroundings. If you know reaching that top shelf will leave you in a precarious situation either ask for someone to get the product for you, nothing bad about asking for help, or be aware of those around you. Be swift and don't draw any attention... Most people will not even notice or as previous posters have stated most will assume you are LEO.

Believe it is this way in Oregon. But you will probably get pretty good at not revealing your "hidden friend." Good Luck.

Born and raised in Crook County Illinois. Proud resident of Northwest Indiana now.
Indiana issues a "License to Carry a Weapon" permit. You can open carry in Indiana, but most conceal carry. There are a number of instances where people open carrying are "asked nicely" by the police to conceal their handguns because it is "disturbing the peace."
Oh well, we still get to carry. Here's to hoping that IL can get their heads out of their arses and let the fine residents of IL carry lawfully.

Haha, in Idaho people ask what you're carrying (if they're gun people), or they ask if you're off duty today.

Never gave it a thought here in Washington state, but I'd better check it out, I wear my 226 40 everywhere I go and am usually not aware if I'm printing or not....could get me in trouble! LEO here on the eastern side are pretty cool unlike the stiff, gung-ho smokeys on the western side, so they usually look the other way on such stuff.

concealed carry mishap
if you are not allowed to conceal carry and your weapon unconceals the least that can happen is arrest, the worst is some nervous inexperienced law enforcement officer will shoot you, if you are not allowed to concealled carry, your best bet is to have it on the dash where they can see it and unloaded depending on your state laws
