Found this article to be rather interesting. Not certain that I agree with the list...I would have ranked the Glock 19 higher and probably added at least one SIG and/or a 3", 4" or commander sized 1911. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=40414 |

Credibility went right into the Crapper - when I saw his number 1, YGTBSM! It troubles me more that he is a "NRA Certified Instructor in three disciplines, a member of NSSF and GeorgiaCarry.org, and a vocal Second Amendment activist." . Which means he is purposely passing his beliefs on to those Novices seeking Gun knowledge. Why he failed to extoll the virtues of .25ACP vest pockets is a mystery....................... Quick someone ask me how I really feel.

He made it clear that it was HIS top ten list..That's how he feels, that's the glory of opinions. He has some valid points as far as point and pull guns are concerned. What I take away from this, is that there is no single WAY to concealed carry. There are certainly facts and pointers people should understand and follow. I don't agree with his list, but he didn't frame it as THE list, he framed it as HIS list.

I like that list much better Jeff. I believe I'd just as soon tote a pocket full of rocks as a .25. |

Saw the list and all of them have their certain virtues. I carry a Taurus Millennium PRO .45ACp, ( PT145 model ) daily. I mean daily and any and every time I go out, and often times even wear it around the house. I truly love my new Sig SP2022, but it weight more, and is fatter than my .45ACP, as well as longer. The Taurus has a very short reset trigger on it in the SA mode and I've never had any FTF, nor FTE. Shoots reasonably accurate as well. This was done today while shooting it, my Bersa (wife's handy gun), and my Sig Sauer SP2022 at my backyard range. Not as tight as the 9mm Sig, but you put the target up to where your middle chest is, and any one of those bullet placements would be a real problem for the bad guy. |

Where would the Bersa Thunder fit into the scheme of things? It is farily flat, easy to shoot, accurate, reliable. Big drawback is the ammo it shoots. But I cannot complain about it's 100% reliability or it's accuracy. ![]() This is out of a $260.00 pistol I bought for my wife to shoot who is recoil sensitive. |

Like already noted, the article is one persons opinion. Concealed Carry has too many options to be limited to specific guns. What I can carry under a jacket is not the same as what I can carry in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. As many a good trainer has pointed out, the mission drives the gear train. I might consider an NAA mini revolver in a crotch set up if I thought I might be patted down by some doper, but never, never, never, would it be my #1 choice for anything. I don't know this guy, but I suspect he spends way to much time in a dark basement sitting in front of his computer, and not out there doing it.

While I respect the punch a .22 Mag could deliver to a lightly dressed Zombie, at close range, I remain surprised it is the #1 choice on anyone's list.

I know I am the new guy on this forum but I find it funny how the lists all include 2-4 SIGs. Wonder if Glocktalk or XDtalk members would put their guns in the same list. I own 4 of the authors listed guns...but I would NEVER put my life in the hands of that tiny palm gun he placed #1. My opinion (sense it is free): (1) Kel-Tec PF9 (bet nobody else lists this gun...believe me, love to carry/shoot once I learned the trigger!) (2) Glock 36 (3) Glock 23 (4) Ruger LCP (5) SIG P226 or 290 (6) Ruger SR9C (7) Glock 26/27 (8) Ruger LCR (9) XD 9 SC (10) S&W M&P Pro |

The 239 is the best edc I've ever used for CHL duty. .357sig with the +1 extension, and CT laser grips.
