Sig ultra 2-tone or Kimber ultra CDP II LG

Looking to purchase one of these two in the near future. The external extractor is my main draw to the Sig. Price is not a huge factor but saving $500 is always nice. Anyone have experience with one or both? Thoughts, opinions, advice welcome.

Go with the S.I.G. The external extractor is more reliable, and the S.I.G. has fewer MIM parts.

I love my S.I.G. 1911.

I bought the kimber ONLY because sig does not offer it in ambi safety. Sig has a better warranty.

Thanks. I do believe I'll choose SIG. External extractor is a big plus and I've heard of FTE with kimbers ultra. Cheaper with a better warranty is awesome too!

My buddy bought a kimber instead of sig. The front sight fell off after running 300 rounds through it. also have another friend that has a kimber that has feed problems. Because of this i won't buy one. Sig all the way.

My uncle has a Kimber Ultra Carry II. The aluminum frame is nice, keeps the carry weight down. Zero malfunctions through 600+ rounds so far. It is an exceptionally accurate pistol and the trigger feels almost bullseye-custom at 3.75 lbs. We shot a metal pail with it 4 out of 39 times at a range of 365 yards. We'd have hit it more, but the crosswind was a steady 10 miles an hour and criss-crossing up the hill. All I can say is you should closely inspect a 1911 with a field strip before purchasing it. Recoil can be rough after a couple magazines with wooden grips. Very smooth-cycling and fun to shoot at the range.

I don't have experience with the Kimber, but love my Sig Ultra. Very accurate and so far very reliable.

I now have 600 rounds thru the kimber with no malfunctions. Still would have bought a sig if it came ambi.

My Ultra has an ambi safety. I'm not sure what it's called, it's not on the web site. It is bascially an Ultra Two Tone but with ambi safety, magwell, and G10 grips.

So far, no jams of any kind. I ran through every kind of mag I own to see which one it liked, and it liked ALL OF THEM!

I don't understand, I thought chopped 1911s had feed problems. This thing feeds EVERYTHING.

Check out this video:
