Because someone's liable to think you're a contractor and want you to give them a quote to re-do their bathroom!

That's me. Go for function, not name brand.

I gave away my Sig bag. Didn't care for it.
My main bag is a big ol' boy of no known maker I picked up at an LGS. Love it. Cavernous, yet easily organized; someone who'd been to a range a time or two must have designed it.

Don't pay too much

I agree completely that they are necessary, but I think it's idiotic to pay more than $30-40 for a bag. ALL of the dedicated "range" bags are overpriced.

Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy a tool bag. They are all heavy-duty nylon, have all kinds of pockets and sleeves for everything, and are easily half the price that you will pay otherwise.

LA police Gear has what they call a Zombie hunter bag fo $20. I ordered one until I could find a deal on a Maxpedition bag. It's a nice bag. Search it on you tube. I'm still looking for a little larger bag. (We usually take 3-4 pistols) it really is a great bag for the money.

I'd like to know how well it works and how well it is made.
I have a Bulldog bag that is built of heavy duty material but is a bit small.

Thanks in advance for any help
I have the Sig Competition Bag But the Large Midway is right up there for 1/2 the price.

I have a Safari Land bag and it is nice. Plenty of storage for my ammo/eyes/ears/etc...

To answer your question about necessity, I would say no. A buddy of mine uses a back pack which transports his stuff just as easily I guess. I do like the convenience of a bag that is set up for a shooter (example mag holders). Just boils down to whether or not you want to spend the money on something that enables you to organize a bit better.

Its a given that I need a range bag but the Bulldog bag is small for my needs and I wanted to know if the Sig bag was a heavy duty quality bag. Thanks
Doesn't really matter what your question is, since everyone is addressing the OP's question:

I have one. It had some quality control issues with bad stitching which I took care of with a little crazy glue. A bit small but looks nice with the Sig Logo monogram and has lots of pockets. Holds my 3 pistols and range ammo/equipment for the day.

Picked up a Bulldog which I thought was much to large for my needs, but damned if it isn't full already. Good construction and functionality.

I would rather not have my bag (and content) emblazoned with the SIG logo.

Home Depot tool bags make great inexpensive range bags. Tool slots hold magazines, etc.

I know that bag.

Really sharp reds and blacks.

Pretty well built, but I left mine in a different state...

Wouldn't hesitate to use one for the range.

Heck, I use my oldest Gdaughters back pack she gave me when she got out of kindergarten. I get a lot of looks and comments because its pink and says Hello Kitty, but I don't care she gave it to me and is happy to see I use it. That makes me smile. So ALWAYS make way for the guy with the pink backpack.
