bedside holster for P239

Looking for a "holster" for my 239 to attach under matress and hang alongside the boxspring. In a recent Cabellas catalog I found a Blackhawk bedside holster but the butt of the gun would ride to high. Has anybody made something that I might be able to copy? Thanks

I'm sure you could fabricate some kind of support that you could attach a belt clip holster to. I had an idea of using a thin sheet of MDF or plywood and making a loop with some wire or other type of loop that a holster with a belt clip would attach to and slide it between the mattress and boxspring with just the loop exposed to hang the holster on. The MDF or plywood would have to be a large enough square to allow enough surface area to be stable under the mattress so not to move around when jerking the firearm out of the holster in times of distress. If the holster had the old fashioned leg ties (old western movies) you could even attach them to the frame to help keep the holster from lifting while drawing. A good 2' X 2' piece should do it. I've seen ones on Ebay that were made of steel rods but I don't know how well they would stay in place when having to draw the handgun from the holster. That's where I got my idea from and you are free to use it. Just take a stroll through your local hardware store and I'm sure you can find what you would need. I hope this gets your creative juices flowing.
