Looks great! I saw these a couple months back and was deciding on picking one up. Looks like you just made my mind up.

Don't suppose you know of any P6 barrels floating around for sale, do you?

Another question, have you removed the breech block from the trainer slide? I've heard some of those are brazed in there and difficult to remove.

I haven't seen any barrels in a few years. I sold one 2 years ago, and almost gave it away cause there was no interest in it. I'll keep an eye out for a barrel for you.

I did remove the breech block from my P6. It was a little difficult but not undoable. I'm thinking I'm going to send the original slide in for nickel plating so that this gun has the original slide on it.

Was it brazed in place, or just difficult due to age? I've heard of some of the trainers that had the breech block either rusted in place, some that are gently brazed, and 1 that was brazed hardcore on all three sides!

Mine wasn't brazed. Just a little rust. Once the roll pins were out, I was able to pry out the breech block with a flat head screwdriver. The firing pin hole was brazed closed. I'm curious if it can be drilled out and reused?

I would think so, but most of them also had the face of the breech milled off at an angle. If yours was lucky enough to not be milled, it sure wouldn't hurt anything to try! Worst to happen is that it's still unusable.

Thanks for the info too. I'm just waiting to pick mine up from my FFL. I've been gathering parts in the mean time, all I have left to find is a barrel. EFK won't have one available again until after the first of the year, but I can wait. I'd rather have a good one that will load hollow points than settle for an original P6 barrel.

My breech block is intact except for the filled in breech face. The brazing doesn't look to go very deep inside the firing pin hole.

Well, I finally got around to shooting my P6. Everything functioned perfectly. I shot 100 rounds with 0 malfunctions.

Here's my target at 5 yds:
