This is a discussion on Home invasion, first hand account within the Gun Tactics forums, part of the Gun Forum category; That couldve been a lot worse. Hopefully he uses it as a lesson and adjusts his training accordingly....

Having also been through an armed assault I think we tend to learn at a very rapid pace, what we might have done. I don't know that would make me "better" should another attack happen but being more focused on how to stop the threat after they've entered would much more in place----I'm sure but not completely.

Hesitating to fire would never happen again even in today's environment. I am sure criminals's behavior is much more aggressive and far more unconcerned about taking a life than during the 70's when my incident occurred.

The few deterrents against entry I have now might give me just enough of a delay to assess my situation and give me time to better prepare for what comes next.

That's the hope anyway.

Incredibly valuable wisdom shared here. Thank you to all the individuals who were willing to do so.

I am putting the 9mm in the safe and keeping the 45 out.
