Tonight I took my first venture into gunsmithing, I installed some trijicon night sights onto my Springfield. Using a sight pusher tool it was pretty easy overall, the only problem I came across is that the hole drilled in the sight for the roll pin and the hole in the slide did not line up. I think I can do without it, but if not, the sight will have to be swapped out with a different one or the hole will have to be re-drilled. It seems pretty tight without it, and I did use some lock-tite to help hold it properly in place.

I've got a friend that just retired from Nissan. He took a buyout and is my age, 53. Nissan is paying for him to take gunsmith classes. I need to find something for him to practice on for free.

I hear Smith and Wesson revolvers are pretty easy to work on... however, their autos are a different story (very tedious and painstaking).
