Has anyone thought about or seen what ones Handgun collection says about the owner of the collection?

Ill start with some thoughts and please add and take apart as you see fit.

As the type of guns.

Some like only revolvers while others like autos.

The calibers.

Some only like big bore while some like anything that goes bang.

The age range in the collection.

Many prefer guns pre (insert date) as others only like anything new.

The color finish.

There is many different color schemes out there and some like only black or two tones and such.

The number in the collection.

Some are not collectors and only use a gun as a tool or way to relax on a Saturday afternoon while others collect and buy many guns

Price matters.

Some buy guns for their collection only if it is over a certain dollar amount as others buy guns only if they get a good deal.

Gun Snobs.

Some of us are gun snobs and only buy the higher end brands while others do not care for the brand.

So on and so on………..

What is all this saying?

Any psychology majors out there want to take a stab at this?

What does your collection say about you????

I like quality modern firearms... preferably auto's (I shoot better with auto's than revolvers)

I think my collection says that it's young and that I need more time and money to build it!

I love my autos to but there is just something about my S&W 686 that is awesome! I was absolutely thrilled when it was returned to me after being stolen. I don't think that I'll ever get rid of it unless times get that bad.

My "collection" is only 3 guns at the moment but I'm very happy with them all and hope that I don't have to trade/sell one to get another but just add to the family.

Six long guns, including two deer rifles and my great-great-grandfathers double-barrel percussion shotgun (he rode in the 7th VA Cavalry during the Civil War, but this gun was too long to have been carried in the saddle.) Four handguns, all of which are semiautos except for the S&W 629 Classic that goes deer hunting with me...just in case I happen across a bear. Hoping to move this collection in a more "tactical" direction, and would like to add a couple of new carry pistols, a couple more 1911's, and at least one AR.

I don't consider myself a snob, but try to stick to names with good reputations that I feel I can trust.

I think 686's are awesome too! Years ago, they used to refer to them as the poor man's Colt Python. Personally, I think for the money you spend on a used Colt Python today, the smarter way to go is to buy a new S&W 686, get an action job, and have change left over to buy some ammo. Although the vented raised rib on a Python looks pretty cool.

My friend has a 4 inch 686... best trigger I have ever felt.
