I stopped by my LGS and held the G27 again today while the wife was shopping. I'm really tempted.

Couldn't resist - I picked up Taurus JUDGE " PUBLIC DEFENDER '" this afternoon from a local dealer - going to shred some silhouettes tomorrow! A snubnose .410 - I like the concept |

Boy, I thought I had owned some oddball/strange/cool guns, but that Pocket 9 is really nice! That thing looks new. I'd like to see a range report on that.

LOL… It is a strange gun compared to pocket 9’s today. Detonic was primarily known for their high end .45 1911 style pistols. The Pocket 9 was a double action with blow-back action, only made from 1985 to 1986. It weighs about 25 oz, 5½” long, 4” high, 1¼ thick. I’ve only shot it a couple times, pretty much a paper weight in my safe. What I remember about my range time, at 21’ feet off hand had about a 4” grouping, heavy recoil, stiff trigger, doesn’t like high pressure stuff. Shot some Corbon +P and had a jam. Had difficulty dis-asembling and re-assembling for cleaning. If I were to buy a new pocket nine today, it would be the Rohrbaugh. | |

Right. I've owned a few of their mini 45's over the years, I believe the last one was a MK6? Stainless w/different sight blades? Worksmanship was unsurpassed, but I never could get one reliable enough to use it for off-duty use. Never owned one of the Pocket 9's and hadn't even seen a photo of one for years, but a neat gun and idea nonetheless. I'm kind of waiting to see how the Sig P290 washes out, but like everything else in the gun business, it may be a while before they are readily available. Hope I'm wrong.

The Bersa Thunder .380 that my wife shoots and keeps handy. It's a nice little pistol that has good ergonomics, never jams, polished barrel, and does very well in accuracy. I think we paid $260.00 for in in Nov of 2008. ![]() My daily carry is a Taurus PT145 Millennium PRO model .45ACP. Holds 10 in the magazine and one in the barel SA/DA trigger and resets very short. Never any problems with reliability. It has a external safety, and also a safety that is like the Sig Sauer that won't let the firing pin travel forward unless the trigger is pulled to the rear. Comfortable to shoot, and lighter and more concealable than my Sig SP2022. Barrel is polished and it is an easy pistol to disassemble and clean. Here I have it in a CrossBreed Super Tuck holster: ![]() ![]() AR-15 in 6.8 SPC II caliber, more correctly, 6.8 X 43. Barrel is from AR Performance, a 16" SOCOM with 1in 11.25 twist and 5R rifling, mid length gas. I have it mounted on an upper reciever I built from parts I put together. The gas block is Adams Arms Piston system, adjustable, like the Sig 556. Lower is a Del Ton lower I put together along with a Tapco collapsible stock. Foregrip is Magpul modular mid-length hand guards. It lets me put any rails I want if and where I want them and is a lot lighter than the metal quad rail that now sits in the closet. ![]() Pretty good shooter as well. Below is a 5 shot group at 100 yards with Speer 100gr Spitzer and Reloader 10X powder at 29.0 gr. ![]() I also have a Sig 522, with a modified laser setup in it in the front where the faux gas adjustment plastic piece used to be. ![]() ![]() ![]() Safety ON ![]() Safety OFF |
