| Wife's M&P15-22
Well I told my wife that by the end of 2012 she would have a purple rifle, and that is coming to fruition. I have the lower stripped of all parts except the front takedown pin, will take off the sights bolt and charging handle of the upper. I will then use paper towel tubes to place between the handguard and barrel, to keep the barrel paint free. I will be ordering some duracoat on monday (probably they shake and spray kit for $30) for the #118 OSHA Purple. Once it gets in I will be duracoating everything above mentioned (leaving pistol grip, collapsible stock, mag release, bolt release, bolt, barrel, and sights black) I will post before and after photos. This will be a fun project once I get the DC in.

What a timely post! I am currently in email contact with a refinisher that will be finishing the frame of a Browning Buckmark that I bought for my daughter to use when we go to the range. We are going to go with the Duracoat finish "Goddess Purple" on the frame only. I am hoping to drop of the frame next weekend. |

Alright I got my wife's gun done a week or so ago and just haven't bothered to log onto my computer, but have just been keeping up with my phone. Here are the pictures I took just a day after: ![]() ![]() ![]() It is darker now that it has had more time to cure, but next time I plan on going with the Goddess Purple that Reliable went with its a better shade. |

Wow that looks like it turned out very nice.Good work harkanin. What did you have to do to prep the surface? Just a good scrub down with alcohol or something? |

Love the m&p 15-22, I bought one about a year ago and it is my favorite gun to shoot.

Thats pretty neat. Im curious to see how the finish holds up. I just got a Sig slide redone in Ceracoat. I hope they both hold up well. |

Do you plan on just letting it sit for a while so that nice finish can cure real good before subjecting some parts to the stress of firing?

Nicely done!! I too am curious as to how well it will stand up to handling and shooting. I also wish to know if there is a cure time needed?

I need to get the camera back out, but we put a $50 red dot from walmart on in and took it out last sunday to get it sighted in. Then I let her have fun with it. They say its good to go after that first night but has a long full cure of 4-6 weeks.
