Right now the NRA is a cornered animal, and unfortunately it is acting like one. Bad judgment.

That would hardly convince someone who already agrees!

I think the NRA needs to take a step back, and rethink what they are doing. They are doing more harn then good. They need to go back to basics, and show the sporting side of firearms, and protecting ourselves and families from criminal threats. Attacking politicians does nothing, and shows they are out of touch.

I think it was an awesome commercial. Proud supporter of the NRA.

Obama's kids school

I guess what most people don't know is whether or not the Secret Service is at the girls school, the school provides substantial armed security anyway for its exclusive clientele. That is the point that the NRA is trying to make. So O wants you to send your kids to a "Gun Free" zone while he and others of the upper left send theirs to a well armed facility. Forget the building, if you don't belong there your not going to even enter the driveway.

Maybe not necessarily bad judgement on their part, but bad execution. I understand the message, but it may have been better served being an informative ad rather than an attack ad of sorts.

The NRA is going to increasingly marginalize itself in this conversation if they are not careful. They don't have to "go along to get along," but right now inflammatory ads aren't going to win them support from anybody except people who are already members.

The battle is for the moderates and undecideds, and the NRA needs to make its case calmly and rationally or risk further alienating a public that right now sees us more as "gun nuts" than they ever have before.

I have to agree it was a low blow that was not necessary it's just make us gun owners look like a bunch unemotional non caring human beings and it's not helping the cause pretty bad judgement from the NRA. The president and his family are not anymore special or important then anyone else but are on a higher risk level the the average American

You and I are both supporters of the NRA but commercials like this won't help get the support from anyone who is not a member or supporter and these are the people we need support from

I concur.
We lost 2 elections because they did not want to put out ANYTHING that would upset the liberals. I 'm talking about Rev White for starters, foreign money in the campaign, all the czars, vacations and the list goes on.
As far as I'm concerned, this is war for our freedoms and all is fair.
BTW those kids were abused putting them up there. They had no idea in hell what was going on!!

The time to act is now, that I agree. I think the message we (I say we because I am a due paying member) need to convey is education, then evoke the emotion. Too many people are uninformed about guns, ammunition or even shooting sports. Everyone has heard the asinine comments made by the media, and that is all they know. When I told a friend that I was a member of the NRA, he asked if a white hood came with the membership. And this is a son of a retired LEO. That is the image in my area, because its not an isolated event. I think that is what needs to change before any policy can be taken serious. Just my experience and thoughts. No disrespect meant at anyone.

I don't see anything wrong with their commercial. Anything that goes against the Liberal Gun Grabbers will be wrong. The NRA is not attacking his girls and if the President can use children to push his agenda then there is nothing wrong with the NRA commercial.

I think him using those children was a reprehensible act of politicking. I am sure you agree as well.

If the president can use their girls to try to show that they are in touch with the nation then they can be attacked. He used his girls to promote his homosexual agenda. He used his girls to make him seem like the dad next door when he was campaigning but now, this simple example of how he is ok with security at his daughters schools but only gun free zones for the nation, it is not ok. What a hypocrite and his whole administration are hypocrites.

Agree with you on that th3ug1yon3.

Agree with you too siggybaby. Guns in the right hands in schools is what it's going to take.
