The biggest complaint with this pistol is that the design of the safety is such that while shooting the shooters thumb can accidently engage the safety.

The second biggest complaint is that the safety lever chews up the shooters thumb while shooting.

Why a DAO pistol has a safety is beyond me but this pistol has one.

The company sells a "Safety Delete" kit for $20 + shipping but a person can take care of this themselves with whats already there if you have a dremel and some 400 & 1500 grit sand paper ( some exacto knives are handy too ).

I removed the left side safety lever and began reshaping it.

Rounding over the bottom which is the part that makes contact with the shooters thumb and smoothing it out.

On the top of the lever I dished it out, removing as much as I could.

Also this lever gets thicker the further back it goes so I tapered it down removing most of the material and evening it out.

Then I removed the safety lever & attached rod from the right side and repeated the procedure.

Oh, I also removed the white paint from the "Fire" engraved into the frame.

I love the feel of it now and think it looks better if nothing else.

I'll post a thread on how I dissabled the safefy next.

I like the new CPX-2 better. The un needed safety is gone!
