BINGO -- exactly what I faced and fixed with the Magpul stock. My LOP was way too long with the original Mossberg stock -- approaching 15". The Magpul, with it's adjustable shims, got me back to 13 1/2 inches which is my preference. Also, the Magpul forestock allowed me to easily mount a light.

Same thing here. The LOP was approx. 15" with the Mossberg stock. The Magpul (adjustable with shims) brought it back to 13 1/2" where it belonged. The Magpul forend allowed adding a light.

Mine is an 870 Express magnum with the tube extension, and a TRL-1 HL up front.

Personally I know from experience the sound of a pump shotgun can stop a bad situation from going worse.
I had someone trying to get in my back door. A shout and a pump, and whoever headed for the hills.

For defense i don't care about them being special, like my shooters.
I just want basic, and absolutely proven dependable.

I like my winchester model 12 and the cheap benelli nova tactical pump I bought a few years back. The winchester was passed down to me and the benelli was cheap, has a 18.5" barrel and is from a good company. I wanted a Benelli M4 for a while but never bought one.

If I am facing a situation where I feel the need to grab my shotgun, as opposed to a semi-automatic pistol or my AR-15, the shotgun must have enough shots loaded to quickly-deliver lethal damage over a wide sector that is occupied by a significant number of threats.

I have a newer model 870 Police Magnum, 7 shot. A few years ago I sold my probably 20-25 year old 870P to a guy who restored them for a hobby, and he did a great job.

Kind of wish I had kept that one, because it was so much better built than the new ones.

what the properly dressed home defenseman is wearing these days...

Got an Ithaca Lever Action(the lever breaks it) single shot. Rifle sights, loaded with 00 Buck. Probably need a new door, but no bad guy.
