I like to keep my EDC pocket knife simple but effective. This Buck knife has done me well for about 5 years.

MY EDC for a couple years now. Quick, easy, perfect size, takes a great edge, and holds it. Love it! ( ordered through Amazon.com at a nice discount too ). JB

Well, it used to be my S&W knives exclusively but (as you know " Reliable") I had just recently won a spiderco knife in a Karma on another forum.

I'm now in love with that knife! I can see me buying more of these.

I love to carry the Buck knife. My parents gave it to me about eight years ago and I've carried it with me ever since. I love it, cuts through anything and even with an amateur like me, it gets pretty sharp and holds a good edge.

The other knife is a Samurai Tactical knife, I got it for free with an order from Eotac because they ran out of the free shirts they were givin away with orders. Normally wouldn't buy a knife made outside of the U.S., but this was free. I love the irony that this knife is called "Samurai Tactical" yet it is made in China, not Japan. It's pretty sturdy, but not as well made as the Buck. I carry them both and use the Samurai for my abusive work (cutting bailing wire, plastic, cardboard boxes, etc... since I don't particularly care about the knife.

How do you like the 0350 Col? I have been threatening to pull the trigger on one.

So far, so good. I've only had it about 3-4 months and so far haven't found any faults. I initially got the 0200, and although I really like it, it was just flat too big for pocket carry. I relegated it to my BOB. The 0350 is still a "larger" knife, but it does work in the pocket. Thing is built like a tank. The thumb opening stud is a little close to the handle for my tastes, but I never use it anyway, using the flipper instead. I would recommend ZT to anyone at this point, and they are a heck of a lot cheaper than my Striders. Now I need to try one of the frame locks.

Spyderco Delica. Can’t see it being replaced, except by another Delica. This photo is one year old this month, and the knife now shows signs of wear. Some day, I’ll learn how to keep it sharp. There’s a skill to knife sharpening I have not mastered.

I recently got a Spyderco Sharpmaker. I’m just not good with sharpening knives, but I have managed to improve the edge on my Delica quite a bit. After the first time I used the Sharpmaker, looking at the edge on my Delica thru a magnifying glass, it looked like rough cast metal. Pits and all. I spent a lot of time the next time with the Sharpmaker taking it slow, and got some semblance of an edge back. At least the rough cast metal look is gone. Keeping the blade vertical while using the Sharpmaker is a challenge. I’ve scratched the sides of the blades using it. Piece of cake for some people, but for me, it involves a learning curve. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to polish those scratch marks out.

In addition to the EDC I posted at the top of the thread, I also have a couple of back ups on hand. Since I feel naked without a pocket knife, I like to keep them ready to go. Usually I will lose a pocket knife every few years but my current Buck knife has kept me from putting these into service.

Here are the back ups:

USP .45 and gerber multitool. i have another gerber fixed blade that i was issued a couple of years ago attached to my gear. that knife has been used for about everything except cutting.

Depending on the type of pants I have on. A Benchmade 520, or a CRKT Desert Cruiser for BDUs.
