Read before you buy Legion

Coating coming off of P229 Legion .357 SIG. I sent pictures and talked to a customer service representative and was told this is normal wear and tear. If I knew the coating would be coming off like this I would have never purchased the legion series pistol. I hope this post can save somebody money or make a decision. This is what your Legion Series will look like after 1,000 rounds

Not to offend, but it looks to me like normal wear.
The PVD is not as tough as Nitron, and that means it will wear off much sooner, sorry that you feel deceived.

Agree. Normal wear and tear. Mine looks like that as well. Gives it character. Use it and enjoy it

You pay over a grand for a gun, you would expect quality. Not the case here, not only the OP but many more of us. It makes me want to puke. Wish I had never bought mine. Same gun by the way. Same bad finish and the same spot. Way to go SIG!

I agree it's normal wear. You have to remember it's a tool. An if you use that tool, it's going to get banged up. Keep it lubed, and definitely don't worry about scratches or wear. That stuff is going to happen, and definitely gives the gun character.

Yep, but it doesn't matter. I've used all the top grease from Lucas to Enos. The PVD is a joke and wears out fast. Whoever designed, tested, approved for sale the PVD coating should be fired. One and all should be out at Sig.

This.... It's like if I pay $600 for a pair of shoes. I wear them knowing they are going to get scuffed, and scratched and worn.. But I wear them and enjoy them all the same.

I at least like to shoot it before the finish starts to show flaws like the OP and mine did. If I want scuffed shoes I would get them a Goodwill. Mine was bought on line and picked up at a LGS. Too late to void the sale then. So buyer beware. On line is the only way to buy certain guns in this day and age, as they are not in stock at your LGS.
