I love how they both feel. I have the 226 SAO but will soon get a 229 as well. As far as trigger reach, the SAO is a shorter reach due to the flat surface. It feels much better than the curved trigger. If you have smaller hands, I highly suggest you feel the SAO before making purchase.

I like the way the 229 legion feels in my hands more than the 226 legion, and I shoot the 229 better too.

I have a Legion 226 and yet to handle a Legion 229 but this is what I've noticed on the Classic 229 & 226.

Grip type to grip type being the same on both versions I would think it would translate to the Legions as well.

My P226 Legion and P229 Legion grips feel very nearly the same. Yes, there is a slight difference because the P229 is shorter, but differences in the grip pale compared to the differences in triggers. Reloading is a different story, however, as the P226 Legion wears a magwell.

I finally got a chance to handle both at the same place. I agree the P229 does feel a little fatter. Guess what I came home with?

They do indeed feel different in my hands. The P229 feels chunky to me, where the 226 feels a little slimmer. While the dimensions may be very close the difference in shape makes them feel different.

[QUOTE=wingdo;1559849]The 229 does have a smaller frame, but both feel pretty much the same in the hand. You can feel more heft to the 226.

Here's a YouTube comparison of both.[/QUOT}

Both feel very close. P229 for easier CCW. P226 for comp or range. Most important is that the slide and sight radius is longer on the P226.
