P226 VS P229 feel

Do these feel about the same in the hand? does one fit smaller hands better? Does either have a shorter trigger Reach?

I'm asking about the legion series that have the same style grips. not the regular models.
Thanks

Welcome from PA!

Try them on at a gun shop. Your hand determines the best fit.

The 229 does have a smaller frame, but both feel pretty much the same in the hand. You can feel more heft to the 226.

Here's a YouTube comparison of both.

I feel like the P229 feels "chunkier", but that quite possibly is due to the fact that the gun itself is "chunkier". Frankly, I like the feel of the P229 better... it might be the best feeling pistol I've ever held, IMO.

To me the 229 feels fatter and the 226 feels longer and skinnier but barely.

The grip feels the same to me but the 226 just feels better in my hand.

That's my perception with my 229 with G10 grips compared to my 226 Legion.

I need to find a 229 Legion to compare. I find the 226 much more comfortable.

This is so much a how it feels to you thing.

The right answer is an individual one.

I could not decide but the M11A-1 can be carried concealed, the Mk25 could not

That was all i could come up with as the both felt great

I agree that the P229 with G10 grips feels just a bit fatter or fuller in the hand, which is good for me since my hands are moderately large.

The P226 has the longer grip. With my palm size, the P229 grip is just long enough to allow purchase for all of my fingers with my 5th finger just riding a bit on the floor plate of the magazine.

The P226 allows me to get all fingers on the grip without contacting the magazine.

My impression is that with identical triggers, the trigger reach on the P226 is very slightly less, but I have not handled P226 and P229 Legions side by side.
