Quite true. However, that's not the way I shoot. I much prefer sight picture #2. As a result, I generally swap out the #8 rear sight for a #10.
However, my experience with my Legions has been a bit different so far, especially with the P229 Legion. As I recall, it was about 8" off at just 10 yards. I started out by replacing the rear sight with a 0.280" tall x 0.135 notch plain blade from Dawson. Back to the range to calibrate the front sight - 0.225" tall x 0.10" wide. Now POA = POI.
