Another New CA SIG Owner

Greetings all. Purchased a new SP2022 9mm yesterday, now have to wait for the mandatory waiting period before taking possession. This is my first SIG, so I'm pretty excited. Got the gun with the free laser deal, this will be replacing my Ruger SR9. Nothing wrong with the SR9, just looking for something more accurate.

Also have a 45 ACP 1911, a GSG 1911 22LR, and a S&W M&P 15-22 black rifle. Started reloading in early 2011 to be able to feed my habit of anywhere from 300 to 600 rounds per week total. Just bought a Hornady LNL AP last month, really like it. Also enjoy experimenting to find that perfect bullet/powder combination. Looks like I have to start over now!

Looking forward to learning more about the nuances of the SP2022, and will be putting a minimum of 250 factory Federal rounds through it as soon as I get it. This will be in one session, so I guess I'll be putting the famed Sig reliability to the test.

Welcome and a great choice indeed! I recently just picked up my sp2022 in .40s&w and it's a great pistol. Just ordered the .357sig barrel and waiting for the delivery to come in so I could test it out...

I have the 357 Sig barrel for my SP2022 in 40. With the 357 Sig barrel, it shoots lower than the 40. The 40 and the 357 Sig use different front sights.

^^ I'll remember that when I go to the range this weekend.. How much more kick does the 357 have compared to the .40? Can you notice the difference? Also which ammo would you recommend for practice rounds?
