New Sig Owner from CA

I had the chance to shoot a Sig at a local range when I was living in Socal and have been a fan ever since. While other hobbies got in the way since I first shot it in 2010, I have finally managed to purchase my first (two) Sigs.

I went in with a buddy to the gun store and while he picked up his Glock, I asked to see the 2022. It has everything I wanted; papers, box, 9mm with nighsghts, and all the other goodies. Went home to grab my paperwork and had it paid for all in less than an hour after handling it.

At the same time, I also ordered a P226 Stainless last night and sent the money out today, so that will show up in a few days before I can start the paperwork.

Rather then getting my very first Sig this week, I ended up with two! Can't wait to learn talk more about Sigs as well as learn about this fine handgun.

Welcome to SIG Talk from a fellow Californian!!! and Welcome to the wonderful world of Sig Sauer.
In California, you can only "DROS" one handgun every thirty days. (DROS is the Dealer Record of Sale - "the paperwork").

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I can't wait to pick them up.

@Sig229r - No worries there. The 2022 was a consignment gun, so it was just a PPT.
The 226 is going from FFL to FFL, so I'd have to do the DROS for that. I almost bought the brand new 2022 because it came with the plastic case, but the used one had an extra mag and no tax. Hoping to pick up a factory black case from Sig when they get them in stock.

And yea, California's gun laws may be strange to everyone not in CA (Well, it's strange to those here too!), but it's just some minor inconveniences to own guns. I wish I could get the 226 Elite without having to jump through hoops to acquire, but the 225-SSS will do just fine.

The dealer collects the DROS information and documentation from the purchaser and submits it to the DOJ through MCI utilizing a Point of Sale Device (PSD).

Welcome, B16, from Missouri and a fellow SP2022 9mm owner. Glad you were able to get outfitted with two good SIGS, but sorry you have to deal with the ridiculous issues i CA. Enjoy this great forum!
