I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a former Marine who severed some 40+ years ago, I currently live in South Florida. My only experience with weapons comes from my Marine Corps training. My fellow Marines will know we trained and qualified on the M-14 in boot camp, it was not until we graduated boot camp and moved from Parris Island to Camp Lejeune that we handled the M-16. This was during the height of the Vietnam Nam War so they moved you on, I would summarize, rather quickly. During my tour of duty over seas, by circumstance, I was required to qualify with a side arm, which of course was the Colt M1911 45. Due to the changing climate in this country, I submitted my application for a concealed weapons permit, I fully expect will be carrying in the not to distant future. I have a number of questions about weapons and training that I will present to the fine folks in the appropriate forum(s). I'm as interested in being as responsible a concealed carry citizen as I was an open carry Marine. Thank you Last edited by clearchannel; 01-18-2013 at 03:24 PM. |

Thankyou for your service to the rest of us. As an enlightened state, there are lots of clubs and shooting groups here to help with with a gentle learning curve. Detail needs and expectations and you'll get lotsa good advice. Sig is a quality platform, but there's nothing like a well broken-in 1911...so you may have an extended time looking for comparable replacements. Welcome aboard. |

Thank you all for the warm welcome. P.S. At least I do not consider myself an ex-marine! | |
