Hello group

Hello group from Wyoming. Home of high wind and few people and lots of wide open space. Before 6 weeks ago, I never thought much of owning a hand gun or any gun for that matter.

But after the senseless tragedy that recently took place I thougt it was time to excercise my second ammendment right and buy me a gun. So I have bought two a 22lr 25 mag Mossberg tactical and the 22lr and 9mm 226 kit.

I also joined the NRA today, just to stand up for my USA citizen rights. I am a pretty passive person but I believe we all have the right to bear arms and so here I am.

I am approaching 50 and have never owned a gun of any kind. But grew up with friends and family who love to hunt and shoot. Just never nothing I could afford to do until I felt my rights were close to being infringed upon.

I like to play guitar and enjoy nice summers andbeing outside under the beautiful Wyoming skys. I will be asking alot of questions about the sig 226 in the upcoming months and alot of my questions might be 1st grade level to some. But I wouldn't ask if I truely didn't want your opinions. So thank you all in advance for any help you provide in the weeks, months ahead.

Thanks for the welcome guys, my nephew lives close to Indianapolis. I went to college in Evansville for a couple years many, many ... .. years ago. I moved out west 20+ years ago and finally settled in Wyoming to raise my family.

California is one place I have always wanted to go. But have only made it as far as Idaho. California is on my bucket list and I hope vacation there one day. I would also like to see the huge trees as you continue along the northern shore. To dream...

Yester day I got to go to disney world, at least it felt that way. I went to the firing range yesterday and got to shoot 45, 45 long colt, 357, 22lr, 22 mag, 9mm and check them all out one after anther. It was so much fun, after a while my spine started to hurt from standing so long but it was a blast and unfortunately I have an addictive personality. Yikes!!

Another thing I have to say, since this a gun forum, sig in particular is I love my country and I want to give a big thanks to all those who serve our nation. I believe there are many different roles to define those who serve. For example my father is a retired prison guard. I feel he served to keep the worst of the worst off the streets. He is my hero. I want to give a thanks to the men and women both present and past who are willing to fight for our freedoms each and every day at a moments notice. Thank you!!! I want to thank the police departments who lay it on the line every day and who keep me safe from the ones who mean us harm. The firefighters.... .. The list goes on and on. Anywho let Freedom ring.

I used to own 8 acres of land on Casper Mountain. It was an unbeleavable place to unwind. Some of my favorite memories are there. I sure would have liked to have owned a gun at the time. I just always make lots of noise in the wild, and haven't always approached things in the most intelligent way but..

My brother lives pinellis park or something like that on the west side. He has lived there for probably 10 years and loves it. I am not a heat person. So I settled out west. So I get lots of wind, beautiful skys, and extended winters, which I can say I am not totally happy with. But life is good.

Prescott valley area is a place I have always wanted to visit in Arizona. Thanks for the welcome.

Since you are new to the handgun, self defense arena, consider taking some good self defense classes. I also recommend you check out the many free YouTube videos made by Massad Ayoob, a world-class instructor in handgun use and self defense, who has recorded training sessions in Judicious Use of Force, Shoot to Live, Home Invasion, Preparation for Home Defense, and What to Do After a Shooting. Just Google his name and these topics and the YouTubes should show up. Very good instructional information from an expert, and free.
