Hello from SoCal

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a P229 Enhanced Elite in 9mm and currently in the midst of the 10 day waiting period.

A little bit about myself. I'm a Manufacturing Engineer working at an aerospace fasteners company. I got my degree at Cal Poly Pomona in '10.

As an engineer, I have a fascination with all things mechanical. Cars have been a long time fixture in my family. Firearms are a relatively new thing to me but I became hooked on them after my friend brought me along to the local indoor range.

This will be my first handgun and my second firearm. I currently own a Remington 870 Tactical shotgun. Stock except for a Blackhawk stock.

Looking forward to learning more about my P229, both good and bad, and sharing the experience with you guys (if you don't mind haha).

I strongly suggest you get some professional training to familiarize yourself with your weapon, combative handgun tactics and technique thereby building correct muscle memory into your training regimen.

below are two excellent schools here in So California. TFTT has a more regimented Spec Op's/Military "feel" to its classes while Firearms training Associates is more "laid back".

Welcome from KCMO!

My Sig p229 is my first Sig pistol purchase it will not be my last.

I have owned a couple of Sig rifles. The rifle I enjoyed the most was the sig 522.

Also good training NRA Basic Pistol.

Welcome from NorCal

After literally months of research and renting at local ranges to find out what felt comfortable I chose the 2022 9mm. Sent my first 150 rounds down range last week.
I am very happy with my choice!

I was encouraged to handle, dry practice firing, inspecting and just getting use to my new handgun before going to the range, I'm glad I did. My first rounds through my new equipment felt more natural because I practiced first.

I would encourage you as a new handgun owner to join the NRA right away.
The second thing I did was to apply for my CCW. I'm told the waiting list is over a year in my area. I just found a tactical club I'm looking into joining as well, where I will learn to draw from a holster and shoot while moving from target to target. It is a competition club. sounds like fun. I figure handguns should be fun as well as for protection.

Enjoy our new Handgun Zzy you've purchased a fine piece of equipment!
