Well, I picked up a SP2022 in 40 S&W a few weeks ago, and after spending some time with it, and putting a few hundred rounds through it, I figure it is time to start accesorising a bit. What better place to do that then an enthusiest forum right? I figure first, I better introduce myself. I will leave names out of it, but those of you who check out my home page will figure it out pretty quick.

I am an auto mechanic from Duluth, MN. I have been around guns all my life. Due to a few changes in my life, they will be taking a bigger role in my day to day activities, and I will be devoting a bit more of my discretionary income to them. Hopefully you guys can help me out with that.

Normally what I do on the weekends is this http://www.facebook.com/FinnishFury I own and drive a G2 Stage Rally Nissan 240SX. When I am not shooting anyway......

Anyways, I picked the Sig up to be my new EDC side arm. So far I am very pleased with the fit and the accuracy.

I have just a few questions. How is the reliability of the OE polymer recoil guide rod? I have seen stainless steel ones available. Is rod wear an issue on the SP's? At what point should I swap? I plan to shoot 200-300 per month on average.

Next are night sights. I am thinking the Meprolights, but I was wondering if anyone has any other recomendations?

Lastly, I am in need of a few backup mag's. I have a 12 and a 10, but would like to add a few more for good measure. The current supply of them seems to be extremely low. Anyone know a good place to get them?

And since everyone loves pictures. I am sure you know what my SP looks like, so here is the race car.

Welcome from Virginia. The polymer guide rod is perfectly fine, sig wouldnt have put it in there without extensive testing. I myself can buy 3 polymer guide rods for the price of a stainless and they will last just as long with proper care. The sig night sights that sig puts on their handguns are Meprolights. Mine came with them and I absolutely love them.

If you are not already a member, PLEASE join the NRA. This is more important now than ever before. Without the NRA you probably would not have been able to buy your first gun just now. If you want to keep your gun and your 2nd Amendment rights, the NRA is the only effect voice available to us.
