It's no secret that the United States Navy SEALs often carry the Sig P226 as a sidearm. In the military, however, the pistol is designated the Mk25 (Mark 25) and is customized with a phosphate finish on all internal parts - a corrosion inhibitor - and it's coming to the civilian market.

The Mk25 also features a milspec accessory rail (not that rounded rail that the P226R has, which can result in some compatibility issues), and the pistol comes standard with SIGLITE night sights. It is available in single action/double action (SA/DA) only.

The slide has a designation sticker on the slide for authenticity, and a gold stamped anchor logo on the opposite side.

According to the Firearm Blog, current MSRP is $1,142.

That is nice!!! However, i dont like the COA on there. does that mean it needs to be a safe queen? Y couldnt they just leave the COA on the manual for the pistol or something...

That " Certificate of authenticty on the Weapon ".........is actually Tracking code of internal parts, serial #"s, etc that the manufactuer needs to comply with serialized military parts. This "UID" code is the key........I work for a Military Contractor and I use these daily.......Interesting though, where ever that UID is scanned, it knows its history, whereabouts and what needs replacing when this needs to Occur..........I think, not sure that the certificate is actually a paper enclosed in you Case.
