A few months ago we brought up columnist Emily Miller's personal tale of gun ownership in Washington D.C. because of her affinity to the Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm. After browsing models for weeks and shooting everything she could get her hands on, she made her final decision: a two-tone, railed, DA/SA Sig P229 in 9mm, with what appears to be a Short Reset Trigger (pictured above). It cost her a cool $781.

Unfortunately for her, all she can do at the moment is to drool over the pictures, as we are. Her most recent hurdle was to find a retailer that offered D.C.-legal, 10-round magazines with the handgun. Once that was complete, she was able to purchase it...then apply to take possession of it.

It's a sad state of affairs, but the end result is hopefully a responsible new gun owner - and a Sig owner, at that. She will no longer be a victim, and the story should boost "Sig Awareness" a little. I'd say that's worthwhile.
