**** Gear is now Black Arch Holsters

Many of you probably know this already, but figured I'd share here just in case. Thanks for your support!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
**** GEAR CHANGES NAME TO BLACK ARCH

Logan, UT – April 12, 2016 – **** Gear LLC, a manufacturer of hybrid holsters for concealed carry, announced today that it has changed its name to Black Arch Holsters. “With current growth and plans for new products, the timing was finally right to act on plans to change the company name” stated Clay Moultrie, president and founder.

The new name makes reference to the towering stone arches that are unique to the company’s home state of Utah. These natural arches were carved out of sandstone over thousands of years and are among the largest in the world. The name Black Arch pays homage to these silent giants who stand defiantly against all opposition and inspire greatness in design.

This change in name follows just weeks after the company announced that it had increased the size of its production facility by 33% in order to make room for new R&D equipment and a product showroom. This new equipment will allow the company to continue developing its current line of holsters while also pursuing new products.

Expansion of its facility and development of new products won’t affect current lead times, stated Moultrie. Black Arch remains committed to producing the highest quality of holsters and offering a lead time of only 3-5 business days. Additionally, the lifetime warranties of all **** Gear branded products will be honored.

About Black Arch
Founded in 2010, Black Arch Holsters (formerly **** Gear LLC) was launched to produce custom hybrid holsters for concealed carry. Black Arch continues to grow and develop new holsters and other products with the same focus on innovation, quality, and efficiency. The company’s name makes reference to the towering stone arches of southern Utah that inspire greatness in design. They can be found at BlackArchHolsters.com or contacted at (435) 261-2231.

The Protos is actually available on our website as of right now! We've been waiting on a critical piece of equipment that arrived yesterday. Thanks for your interest.

Alas, looks like Protos is only available for 2 firearms.
Neither of which particularly interests me.
When might we expect an expanded selection??

There must have been some sort of problem with our website when you checked then, but rest assured, it is available for the Glock 43, M&P Shield, PPS M2, XDS 3.3, and the 938.

With the Protos, unlike our previous holster designs, each individual model has unique challenges that must be addressed, hence the slow roll out of design. We are currently working hard on getting more models ready to go. We'll have a lot more manpower to devote to the issue here in about two weeks.

Which models would you guys be interested in seeing?

I am interested in the P938. The pictures on your site show your old name still embossed on the holster. Is that still the case ?

No, what with our recent name change, we're still working on getting all of our product photography updated. All holsters leaving our shop are stamped Black Arch now. I'll have some pictures of the new 938 Protos done here in a few minutes. I'll post some here as soon as I have them in hand.

Thank you. From the pics, this does look like a very good option for my P938s. The only other issue is cost. I can't imagine not having the suede back, so even with your current sale, its $94 total. Kind of getting up there (IMHO). But with the 30 day money back guarantee, should be worth a try. Thank you.

As promised, here are a couple photos of the 938 Protos. Sorry they're not great quality, just snapped them on my phone, wanted to get them quicker than what our photographer can offer. I'll post those as well when we get them if you like. Cheers!

Dang. Better than I expected (and I think your stuff looks pretty awesome). The simplicity and function of that single retention screw on the folded kydex looks amazing.

Brian - Thanks for taking the time to update this thread.

I know that I'm a bit biased on the subject, so take this for what it's worth, but I love the Protos. I think you're right, the simplicity and small footprint make it an awesome holster.

Just found this post while looking for a holster for my P320C. Looks like the Protos box set might have everything I could ask for.

Anyone have experience with the Protos and the P320?

Also, since they/Brian post to the site, is there plans to make the Protos for a P229R?
