I never use the laser in daylight. I always use the open sights. The laser is purely for night or very low light operations. Always consider what is right for you might not be optimum for someone else.

I've found that the laser is unnecessary in normal light conditions and don't train with it under those circumstances.
I only train with the laser in the dark at home with snap caps.
I'll have someone take a bag of balloons and tape while I shower or do something else in my bedroom and when I'm done doing whatever it is(Folding laundry, etc.)I'll clear the entire house in the dark of balloons.Utilizing the TLR-2 HLG.
on occasion i have missed a balloon and consider my self as having failed that night. My daughter(when she's here ) typically likes to do the hiding of the balloons. My most embarrassing/troubling balloon miss ever, the one she hid behind herself in her safe place. The event led to the use of safe words .She'll hide them anywhere ,from 3-13 never revealing how many until I proclaim the house Clear. Its actually good fun but is certainly no replacement for the real thing. But its a start and readily available.

Did that but still hunting >10rds. I understand the stats indicate that most engagements are <10 yrds. but those stats are seriously old *****. The engagement gap is rising exponentially.

The bottom line is how many in LE and other professionals carry a laser.
Bottom line is not to copy others. LE has budgetary concerns etc. Do what YOU like and feel comfortable with, not what you think others would have you do.
There is no need to intimidate to your point of view. I respect what you prefer, allow the same freedom for others.

I'm not a fan of using lasers. They're cool, but really serve minimal purposes for a pistol, IMO.

Just an update...

I went shooting with my laser on this past weekend and things worked awesome. I took it off and found myself delayed just a fraction of a second because I was searching for that damn little red dot.

I think I am going to leave it off. Plus I don't have to buy another custom built holster.
