Take the grips off and you should be able to see it.

If you research the 938 msh on this site there is a picture of what to look for. I believe it has a picture of both types. You can look down the magazine well from bottom of gun and see what you have there. you may need a flash light of some kind.

Remove the magazine and look up the back of the mag well. On the old MSH, there will be a 1/8" diameter plastic "nub" through the spring that is flush with the sear spring surface. On the newer MSH there will be a larger hole in the sear spring that has been "swaged" through (wrong word by I can't think of the right one now) to make a round lip that engages the larger hole in the MSH.

Thanks for the excellent information.
Mine came with the correct MSH.

The only thing I have noticed so far is that there is a very light amount of play on the right safety side of ambi saftey. It seems like a common problem that isn't a big issue from what I can tell. I was thinking of getting the P238 safety anyway for it.

Extended mag and holster have been ordered.
Anything with the extended mags I have to watch out for?
I read that there can be some issues with magazines falling out, but might be an old issue.

Is there a list of common springs/parts that will need to be replaced after certain amount of rounds?

I also read that 147-150 grain ammo seems to work the best for 3in barrels as well.

124 grain Federal HST's are also a proven load. Look at the Ammo Quest and Lucky Gunner test reports.
