New to Sig - P938

Hey guys,

I'm currently waiting on my engraved P938 to arrive in the store.
What things should I look for when it comes in?
Is there a specific build date I should only buy after?

Thanks,

Greeting from Nevada, I have only been hanging around here for a year or so, but have never noticed any specific dates that are problematic. Some earlier guns had problems with the mag. release. Watch the two piece guide rod come apart. I have two early guns (2012, 2013) and never had any problems, except for the TruGlo TFO front sight coming loose.

It's probably worth avoiding the old style MSH, or getting a nice discount if you buy a new pistol that's over 18 months old.

IIRC, they were still using the old MSH at the end of June 2015 and mine (July 9th I think) came with the updated MSH.

I would agree, August (just to be safe) 2015 should get you the new/improved mainspring housing design.

Welcome to the forum!!! You will like the P938. I have a P938 and a 1911 Ultra. Both are great guns and both are in my carry rotation.

Welcome to the forum from Ohio and congratulations on your P938. I had one until my wife stole it.

Is there a quick way I can determine what MSH it has on the pistol without taking it apart?
