P938 - Reassembly Precautions
Yo to All at SigTalk !
After the range visit, I cleaned and reassembled my Nightmare and it was reasonable but slow for the first time. Also today, I am relaxing by watching the Royals and Orioles with a few glances at the PGA. I am also doing some dry fire with the P938 Nightmare and checking out some YouTube on the P238 & P938.
I came across a P238 video where the less than knowledgeable reviewer slammed down the ejector during reassembly. His video partner, with gunsmith knowledge, took about 10-15 minutes to take it apart and repair the ejector. Currently, I was careful and I can see the ejector with the slide open. By hand it is ejecting the rounds. So in the future, on a P938 what immediate observations and problems are apparent if I repeat this idiot's mistake?
While dry firing, I found that using nearly the tip of my finger makes the trigger pull easier and smoother. With a deeper trigger well insertion my tight grip was making the trigger pull much tougher. Good Luck !

had my 938 apart today and had reassembly issues
First time to disassemble. Was very, very careful and noticed the barrel was stuck in the slide after I took it off to see what was going on since it would not go back together.
Deduced that the extractor was seizing the barrel and not letting it release. Kinda had to thumb it out with pressure and after about 5 tries, figured out that the barrel was twisting off center a little bit, due to the extractor, I think.
Wiggled and begged it to go in straight and it finally did. All seems normal now but wondering if mine will need to go in for extractor rehab. Have not shot it since reassembly.
Will definitely watch this thread to see who else has this problem. Just reading the other 938 posts tells me at least one tech at Sig is kinda mouthy and damaging their reputation. Sounds like the others are quite helpful and when I call, I should be able to tell right away if I am speaking with their problem employee. He sure is not doing them any favors in the public relations/customer service department.
