On Sunday I said I would go out back and shoot a target at 15yds to show the accuracy of my gun, SIG P938. I did and couldn't remember which thread I promised so I'll put it here for anyone who cares. This is Standing, two handed, slow fire with Winchester Ranger 124gr.; 1st-3 ring, 2nd-1 ring, 3rd-0 We Have A Winner!
When testing accuracy or target shooting I always shoot in sets of three. This three set proved the accuracy besides...do you have any idea how hard it is to get this ammo? LOL. Really, it was getting close to dark and I was just doing it for the thread.
That was for me, SY. (In the P938 - third trip to the range thread).
Very nice off-hand shooting. Did you have to adjust your sights at all since you got the gun?
No but I know I need to. I need to move the front blade left slightly. As you can see all my shots favor the L. side of center and that's while favoring the R post on the rear sight. The 3" high start is more because the sight radius is so short/small on these little guns and I wear wretched BiFocals. I really am a much better with a bigger gun/longer barrel, but that is why these are close range (<15yds) guns.
Yeah, SY, I noticed that you were waaaaay off on that first shot, so I calculated that you'd have to move your sight .0018" to correct that .25" error at 45'. (That's assuming a 4" sight radius - mine is 3.65", but has the TruGlo front). I hope you can even detect if the sight moves, if it only moves that much! ;-)
EDIT: Oh, what the heck, since you're favoring the R post, go ahead and move that sucker a whole .002". (J/k)
That's what I need, is one of the Fiber Optic front blades. It would be easier to see and I bet the added length helps on your north/south elevation judgement.
Vetteguy, I sure hope I can get you in my corner if I need someone. Funny, we both favor the north side of the target.
