Magguts for the P238

This is a discussion on Magguts for the P238 within the P238, P938 Pistol forums, part of the SIG Sauer Pistols category; I just saw on the Magguts Facebook page that the P238 kits will soon be back in stock. Havenít heard much talk about them here ...

Magguts for the P238

I just saw on the Magguts Facebook page that the P238 kits will soon be back in stock. Havenít heard much talk about them here but I got a kit when I got my P238 about 19 months ago. It puts 7 rounds in the 6 round mag. I really liked it and bought two more 6 round mags but then Magguts was out of stock and have been for well over a year. I go to the range with a standard 6 mag and another converted to 7. I donít care for the Sig extended mag and donít use it. So with 1625 rounds through the P238 a little more than half have been with the Magguts converted mag. Zero issues with either mag.

Yeah, I really like the extended mag. Both on the 238 and 938. Feels good to have a place for my little finger.

Just my 2 cents.

Magguts for the P238

On another forum I read where this company says it's going to produce such a spring kit that converts the seven round magazine (which I like better too), to an eight round mag. Still haven't seen how much these things cost. And I read the OP's comment on reliability but the You Tube assembly looks a little flaky especially for something you're potentially betting your life on! Maybe okay for range use though (again, depending on the cost).

I contacted Magguts last month. This is the reply to my questions about P238 and P938 magazines:-
1) Are you proposing to develop a system to change the Sig P238 7 round magazine to an 8 round magazine?
We plan to offer a conversion for the P238 in the near future.
2) Is there a Sig P938 conversion in the works?
We have taken an initial look at the P938 and plan to eventually offer a conversion for that one. It will likely be a little while on that one, though.
3) If 3) then a 7 to 8?
Same as answer for 2).

On the cost of these, if they are similar to their other products they should run around $22-$24. And speaking of the reliability there are many many shield owners out there that have had zero problems with either of the kits they make for them. Many will tell you they have been flawless in use compared to a problem run of factory mag springs that made it out there that would fold in half during use.

I run Magguts in my Ruger LCP and have had 0 problems. My only complaint is the initial cost.
