In spite of the preference that most American concealed carriers have for condition 1 carry, there is a place for empty chamber carry
The nation of Israel and the U.S. Army both favor full magazine, empty chamber, safety ( if present) set to fire
The Israelis have stopped plenty of terrorist attacks and ordinary crime with empty chamber carry
While the Sig 938 is safe to carry loaded chamber, safety set to safe, there is always the remote chance of a negligent discharge while handling the gun
With an empty chamber there is a zero chance of an N D
It does take 2 seconds longer to rack the slide over thumbing the safety and usually requires 2 hands
Everyone has to make their own decision on readiness for action versus safety against negligent discharge
I personally carry " Israeli Style" and practice drawing and racking
The main thing is to have a gun!

The difference is the level of training. I would be willing to bet a well trained Israeli Mossad Operator would have won that battle.

Point was to keep your bugger picker off the trigger.

There are arguments to be made for both styles of carry. There really is no "right" way to do it as it relates to this subject. If you train properly and become proficient with your chosen method of carry then you should be reasonably assured that you have a better than average chance of coming out of a hostile confrontation alive. Odds are at best 50/50 either way, so the notion that one MUST carry with a loaded chamber or face certain death is poppycock. You're as likely to be killed with a loaded chamber, especially if you never do any type of training. I'd bet the average carrier has never spent more than an hours worth of time practicing drawing their gun, yet b/c they carry with a round in the chamber they think they're somehow better able to win a gun fight. Baffles the mind, actually.

I couldn't see the video from my feed and didn't watch it...I assumed it was the encounter where the father and son were killed b/c the guy didn't have a round in the chamber.

Empty chamber w/ safety on fire or condition 1 depending on the situation.
