EDC P320C vs Glock 19

Random observation of mine

I have both a Glock 19 and a P320C and I'm going to list off what I did/going to do to make them feel ready to EDC

Glock 19:
Night Sights
Talon Grips/Grip Stipple
Replaced Trigger Connector
Trigger Guard undercut
Wilson Combat Barrel

P320C
Holster

That about sums it up to me. I have both and I really like both (just bought a P320C in 45 today as well) but the Glock 19 seems more like a Honda that needs to be souped up to compete with a stock P320 with factory night sights

Of course some of the modifications to the Glock 19 will just be quality of life enhancements and really don't need to replace the trigger or the barrel but I thought the Wilson Combat barrel just makes it look so much better.

I can't find a 45 anywhere? I waited and finally bought a 40 sc. I'm going to my local store tomorrow to check out the new Kimber 357 Revolver and see what he says. I'm not buying to guns though.......

To make a Glock 19 usable for me would require:

Dremeling off the finger grooves which do not fit my fingers.

Sending the pistol off for "frame relief" to trim down the exaggerated palm swell low down on the back strap ("Glock hump").

Replace the crappy plastic stock sights with decent ones.

Probably work on the spongy trigger.

After all that I would be left with the stupid grip angle and blocky square-sided grip.

Or I could do what I did: buy a P320 compact which fits my hand perfectly and came with night sights, for less money than I would have cost me to buy a new G19 Gen4.

"Perfection" my posterior!

I couldn't find them anywhere either until yesterday there were 6 of them on Gunbroker for 579-599 so I jumped on one.

Well can just wait till next year and buy the New 5th gen Glocks. No finger grooves. Hopefully they undercut the trigger gaurd. I have been finger banging a glick 19/17 for the wifey. She wants a new pistol. My local gun store just showed me they are now shipping out fourth GEN "C"models with the compensator/ports. Looks good

Thanks. Ordered. I put C instead of Compact in search. Now I have to explain to wife why I need a 40 sc and a 45 c. And my FFL guy here retired in July. This sucks. Almost like losing a family member. Most of the FFL's here are dealers and get insulted when you buy online.

Here is my observation from use and ownership of both the G19 Gen 3 and the Sig P320.

Glock 19 Gen 3:
- Replaced the trigger springs
- Replaced the takedown lever
- Replaced the mag release with extended mag release
- Replaced the slide release
- Vickers Tactical Base Pads
- Upgraded the sights to fiber optic
And the gun was shootable, not likable. I got it for a great price and also sold it for a profit after getting the P320. It was narrower then the P320 but still not likable for CC.

Sig P320 SC 9mm:
- Purchase ammo and shoot
- Purchased Carry 9mm X-Change Kit
- Purchased more magazine
Spent as much for the x0change kit as I did for the upgrades on the Glock and yet it is like having a second gun.

For me the Sig P320 was a no brainer. It is a great firearm and it works the best for me. But how can you compare a Glock and a Sig Sauer anyways?

I'm planning on carrying the Glock 19 over the P320 because I'm 6'2 250 and the Sig Beavertail kind of stabs my gut when carrying appendix while the Glock 19 does not.

I'm debating modifying the frame of the Glock 19 though to get rid of the finger grooves and stipple the frame but then I can't use it for GSSF

All I've done with my P320C was put rubberized Talon grips on it and am expecting the Apex trigger to arrive Friday. I may have my gunsmith buddy do a little bit of stippling work for me in some spots that I want to have a more positive hold, like on the right side hole of the take down lever (I'm one of those heathen Lefties lol). When I can I'm going to order a Carry exchange kit and have him kg gunkote the slide like he did his Glock 19, and then do the grip in like a magpul or Sig gray color.

All I needed to do to my g19gen 4.

1. Buy 3 extra mags $75 bucks gives me 6 total.
2. Not waste countless hours searching for the good Italian mags for my new gun.

And you still have a horrible trigger and sights....at least the 320 comes with good sights and a decent trigger.
