Sig discontinues p250

Talked to a Sig rep on the phone today about the only P250 being offered on their website is the 22lr. Was told the P250 is being discontinued which I for one am very disappointed in.

Curious to as to what thoughts others have on the P250 for all intensive purposes being discontinued?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well since they decided to discontinue it, I wish they would sell the Fire Control Units (FCU's) as a separate component even if it does have to go through an FFL.

AFAIK the 250 has been discontinued for a while now...In fact, back in October, they were very open about not having them in the store, anymore.

Had to see this coming...The long pull comparative to the 320...Was really inevitable.

This stinks. I just got a P250 this fall and still want to build up my supply of X-change kits.

They still have them at the Sig Pro shop in Epping but the counter guy told me they are being discontinued. I asked because they are not listed on the IOP sheet for 2016. They had a entire shelf of X change kits for the 250.

Disappointing, as I like my 250. But not surprising as I assume it's not a hot seller

The one time I shot a P250, the trigger pull was so long that I couldn't hold the gun on target. I hated the thing. I'm sure that I could have gotten used to it if I had enough time, but that's not how it works in the real world.

Agree completely. I simply love the DAO trigger, but then I have been shooting revolvers for 50+ years. I would take a nice DAO trigger over a striker fired trigger any day.

A product does not need to be a hot seller to be profitable if it has a niche market nearly to itself, its R&D costs were recovered long ago, and current production costs are largely shared with a hot-selling product.

Unfortunately, the trend for years has been to try to offer products to compensate for limited training and skills development.

I've got 2 250s....one in 9mm and another in .380acp. I love 'em both. Sorry to see them go but I wonder if it's that the "average" buyer isn't willing to work hard enough to get good on DAO.

Since I got the 250s all my shooting, both with DA/SA and SAO, has improved as I've had to work on both sight picture and squeeze to get semi-decent with the 250.

And as far as x-change components there seems to be a decent supply on the secondary market. I bought a 40 for a hot price, put my extra 9mm on top of it and sold off the 40 unit for about 2/3ds of the cost of the gun.

Now what I'd really like is a SA/DA 250, or to put it another way, a 320 in SA/DA.

That's a shame. The P250, while I don't like it, has SO MUCH potential going for it, that it's being overshadowed by the P320.

I wish Sig would refine the P250, and make it an alternative option. I liked the long trigger pull and would pick a 9mm compact up in a heartbeat.

The P250 is a great shooter and a smooth DAO trigger; probably one of the best DAO triggers I've ever shot. But it just never seemed to take off in popularity. I don't like it but I completely understand the business decision to end its production.
