P320 Reflex Sight Model Question

I live in New Mexico, but I have also have a home in Colorado. I am looking to buy the P320 Full size 9mm with the Romeo1 Reflex Sight. Here's my dilemma. Colorado has that regressive rule of limiting magazines to no more than 15 rounds. The Full size P320 comes with 17 rounds magazines, meaning that I couldn't take the pistol to Colorado when I spend the summers up there. I note that there is an option for 10 round OEM magazines from Sig for the P320 with the ROMEO1 Reflex Sight (I'd rather not go that way if I can avoid it). (Is that 10 round mag a single stack by the way?) But what I am wondering is - will the P320 15 round magazine work in the full-sized P320? If so, I'll just get the 17 round package and leave the magazines in NM when I go to Colorado, and purchase a few 15 rounders for when I cross the border. I note that there is also the option of getting the P320 in a Compact, which does have 15 round magazines, but I shoot Steel Challenge now and then, and would prefer the longer barrel of the Full size. Thanks to all.

As far as I'm aware the 15 round mags are specific to the compact.

You could always buy the full size with its 17 round mags so you've got your longer barrel length and pick up a compact grip module with a few 15 round mags and just throw the grip module on the full size slide and use the compact 15 round mags

Nice option, but I love the feel of the Full size grip. I had the opportunity to shoot one in Dallas over Thanksgiving, and really enjoyed it. Great trigger.

Does Colorado law allow the use of a magazine block, either permanent or installed and removable, to limit capacity?

So here are the words in the statute:

"a fixed or detachable magazine, box, drum, feed strip, or similar device capable of accepting, or that is designed to be readily converted to accept, more than 15 rounds of ammunition."

I'd hate to get in a discussion with a public defender about the interpretation of "readily converted to accept".

So the 10 round magazines fit in the Full-size frame from a 17-round package? I wasn't sure that would work. Thanks

You can run a compact grip on a full sized slide for 15 round mags.

Just get the full size and pin a couple magazines to 15 for when you are in Colorado or get the 10 rounders. They are the same full size magazine, just only hold 10. The compact 15 round mags are smaller and will not fit. I am in NJ so that is what I have to do with all my full size mags to limit at 15 rounds.

"The magazine restriction law also does not specifically address residents purchasing LCMs from out-of-state sources for personal use. Colorado's large capacity magazine ban is silent on non-residents visiting Colorado while in possession of magazines that meet the state's LCM ban criteria, provided the LCMs are for personal use, and the individual had lawfully obtained the LCMs according to the laws of his or her home state."

Source: Wikipedia (I know...)

So you can't buy them in CO. You can't sell/transfer them to anyone else in CO. But the law doesn't restrict your ownership.

The law is unenforceable, according to CO LE. Too many loopholes. Many LEOs in the state don't agree with the ban to begin with, but professionally they don't support the law because it's too hard to prove the law has been broken. Gun stores flagrantly sell LCMs in the state. Or they take them apart and sell them as "repair kits."

If you are really nervous about running afoul of the law, perhaps you could dimple the sides of the 17 rd magazines to only allow 15.

Personally, I have zero concerns about owning LCMs in CO.
