Availability of P320 slide with optic cut

I have a P320 Carry and would like to get a slide to mount the Romeo
sight on. Does anyone know if these are available for sale anywhere?

As I understand it, the Carry model is a combo between the Full size grip
and the compact slide/barrel.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Nope.
The whole pistols are hard to get.
They haven't released any kits for the optic.
God only knows when/if they will given that they are going to have to devote their P320 manufacturing capacity to filling Army orders very soon. Filling civilian orders may get far and few between.

Thanks for the information.

My local LGS told me the same but the Sig LE rep I stole with didn't know when but expressed optimism and said perhaps in the 2nd or 3rd quarter (with regard to a P320RX with manual safety) on the consumer side. A unicorn, my LGS called it. So I went ahead and got the P320 Carry and really think it's a fine shooting gun. Like the trigger shape and really like the trigger pull. After a few hundred more rounds, it's going into carry rotation.

I have been concealed gun toting for many years. Legally, I'll add. One of my friends bought the P250 Compact when it came out years ago and after a brief break in period with some light primer strike issues, it hasn't had an issue in thousands of rounds. Point is, I really liked the DAO trigger on the P250, and I found it quite comfortable to carry in a simple IWB holster called Mr. Softy by High Noon Holsters. I was leary, however, after the slew of light primer strikes, to purchase one for myself.

Although I own a P229R and a P226 SAO Legion and own and carry many other handgun types (I was an LEO beginning 36 years ago) over the decades concealed. Although I enjoy lighter weight guns like the Glock M19/23 and the P320, I still mostly carry metal firearms concealed.

I've bought and sold quite a few DA/SA pistols over the decades, really only liking the Walther PPK design and the more recent Sig offerings in the DA mode, and frankly, the SA trigger pull is hampered by the DA/SA mechanism in most DA/SA Sigs I've owned. I'm not slamming the Sig triggers past or present, but just saying personal taste in the matter.

They certainly solved any SA trigger complaints for my tastes, with the P226SAO. Great gun in 9mm. Really like shooting it. Great carry gun.

After shooting the P320, I just fell in love with the trigger on the gun. It's everything I like about the P250 and Glocks with frankly, a better trigger pull than my Gen 3 M19/23/26 or my Gen 2 M21. After years of revolver carry, along with 1911's, Browning HP's and HK P7s, I did fall in love with the Glock M19 like millions of others did. It's trigger made sense to me, although I fail to understand why they make Glocks with a manual safety for overseas contracts and not for domestic sales. I shoot very well with my Glocks and have carried them for decades now.

But I look forward now to one day, perhaps years from now, owning a P320 RX with a manual safety. LOL

And even though I have a Gen4 Model 34 with an optic on it, I don't care for the Gen 4 Trigger pull at all, hence the P320 Carry just to see what the fuss was all about with my friends who have begun carrying and shooting them.

Unfortunately, I think I'll be waiting awhile to get a P320 with the MOS feature AND the manual safety. So I'll keep an eye here on the forum and on eBay and GunBroker for an optic cut slide and then probably wait a real long while for a P320 with a safety.

Perhaps some savvy aftermarket company will offer to cut the P320 slides, as you can have done with some non-MOS Glocks.

I do value the optic on a handgun, even a carry handgun, particularly when used in conjunction with the correct aftermarket suppressor sights. It's like putting an optic on an M4 with the sights co-witnessed. If the optic fails, you're good to go. If the optic is working, you're even better. I like an optic better than a laser, actually.

I've seen some P320 RX with the Romeo optic installed on Gunbroker. I haven't paid attentions to what they were going for but some were starting priced at $800. A wee bit high for me.

Texasgreg - you can get your slide milled to accept a RDS, however, Sig isn't selling the Romeo 1 as a standalone product yet.

Where could I get that slide milling done, Ed?

I'm running a Burris FF 2 on my Glock 34 and like it quite a bit.

Yes, and there I go assuming that stuff made and marketed by Sig
is available to the buying public.

There are a few places that Board members have recommended. The one I'm aware of, but haven't used, is L&M Precision .

Welcome from az, Texasgreg

A little more than a year ago a Sig rep (Aaron) told me that they intend to eventually sell the slides cut, with or without the optic and, of course, the entire package that is the RX. All sizes, calibers, etc. Guys get told different things by different reps and plans and timelines often change. It's a cool vision but it's certainly taking a while in becoming a practical reality.

For getting your slide milled there are a few that come up the most often:

"eventually":
1. at the very end; finally
2. after a long time or long delay: eventually, he arrived

Check this out from Brownells. Romeo I with adapter kit to fit different sigs with dovetail rear sight $399. 100-017-277WB

No milling necessary. They are sold out as usual but it appears this would save you about $300 in milling fees if you could find such a thing. It could also be switched to another sig.

I believe the adapter kits were made by sig and may be discontinued. Very interesting concept if nothing else. If they are discontinued it can only be that sig can make more money selling complete RX guns or maybe slides later on.

The reason they are not available is Sig hasn't released it yet and there's no date as to when the Romeo 1 will be sold without being attached to a gun
