New SIG P320 - striker fired poly frame ??
This is going around this morning!
The New SIG P320: New Modular Duty Pistol from SIG Sauer
"The NSSF’s SHOT Business magazine is reporting that SIG Sauer is getting ready to introduce a brand new product line called the P320 Modular Pistol. The new SIG P320 will be a striker-fired, polymer framed handgun that is designed to easily change configurations to match the shooter’s hand and use.
A shooter can change the SIG P230 to different frame sizes, different hand sizes and even different calibers. Essentially, a single serial numbered fire control unit serves as the basis for the pistol. Different sized barrels, frames and magazines can then all be used with the pistol to make a semi-custom gun to match the shooter’s need.

Glock fans will just say it's another attempt to copy Glock perfection. Sig purists will say it's not a Sig because it's a polymer frame w/o a de-cocker. Shawn

Seems like the P250 modular concept didn't really go over like expected. Hopefully, this will work out better for SIG. In the striker-fired pistol market, SIG will have some pretty stiff competition from already established models like Glock and S&W and the new Walther PPQ. The PPQ seems to become the immediate favorite of just about everyone who shoots it.

P250 also got a bad rap from all the crummy first gen FCUs. Then he FAM declined a service contract. It is what it is, people just don't have the patience to learn the trigger. Long and buttery smooth DAO is perfect for self defense. No, you can go run some high speed low drag plate shooting and keep up with the Glock boys and other striker fired or 2nd mode single action. Frustrated me at first too. Then I saw the real value in the pistol's DAO. I thought about it some more, if they want to expand polymer framed lines...at least expand the Sig Pro. It's the best of both Sig worlds. Make it in a DAK, offer smaller frames, offer other calibers etc. I'm not saying the new pistol won't be good, I'm just frustrated when a company strays too far...too fast. Hopefully they will start it off with a decent price point and 2 mags and good support.
