Hi all. I just got a new P250 compact in 9mm. I have not got a chance to try it yet. Wondering if this gun will use steel case ammo or will it cause issues? Ive never tried any in any of my guns, but academy has steel case REAL cheap right now id like to buy some for my stash if this gun will run it..?

Steel works in mine.......... the steel part may not be the issue.......WHO made the steel and to what specs.........and beyond the steel, if it is REAL cheap, how dirty is it (when it goes bang)?

Good brass ammo that is a good value

The above is accurate in all ways and I completely agree. Plus, steel casings hitting your steel slide beat up your slide more than softer brass casings hitting it.

Try Freedommunitions.com You will find brass ammo there less expensive than the Monarch listed below, it is made to SAAMI specs here in America, is clean and completely reliable. It is all I shoot. Buy around holidays and get free shipping. No tax if you don't live in TX. I am not affiliated with Freedom Munitions in ANY way, I am just a completely satisfied customer.

Hope this helps, I'm just paying forward the recommendation that made me aware of them, they earned my business after that.

My local FFL put me onto Freedommunitions and it has been my primary practice ammo ever since. If you get on their email list you will get notices of specials quite often. When they offered free shipping recently regardless of the size of the order that was a bonus especially with their already low prices. I recently bought 250 rounds of brass-cased, FMJ 45 ACP for under $70. Shoots great.

I should have mentioned that they offer several types of ammo for each caliber. The 45 cal I bought they stated that it was intended as a practice ammo and not for self-defense. They will refer you to other grades for SD or match use. I was referring to the practice ammo I bought.

They commonly alternate between 5% off and free shipping. You have to decide, based on the caliber and quantity you order which is the best deal for you.
